The Ascent – Park CityList Item 1
The Ascent Park City is a Hilton Flagship Tapestry Collection ski-hotel project in Park City, Utah. The project is a 120-unit Condo Hotel in the building stage. This luxurious, modern-contemporary resort property in the Canyons Village is one of the newest hotels coming to the village area in Park City. This ski boutique community is a ski-in/ski-out design.
SJ Company is the Owner’s Representative on this $68 million contract. Projected construction completion 2023.

Weston Fields – West Valley CityList Item 2
Weston Fields is a 58-lot subdivision in West Valley City, Utah. SJ Company took this development project through a complicated land swap with Northrop Grumman to full entitlements. SJ Company also worked with West Valley City to precure a “zone change” for this property leading to permitting and finalizing the development for the final plat.

Lakeshore Landing – American Fork, UtahList Item 3
Lakeshore Landing is a new housing development in Utah County. Lakeshore Landing in American Fork is a single-family and multi-family housing community with 517 residential and multi-family lots.
SJ Company served as the Owner’s Rep to create the subdivision and develop the land. The SJ team assisted in the land entitlement, design, and land development. There were six plats of luxury apartments and duplexes as part of the community.

The Crossings – American Fork, Utah
This 383-lot residential and multi-family housing community sits in American Fork, Utah. SJ was Owner’s Representative for the project from land entitlement and engineering design. currently under construction.

Grantsville Gravel Pit – Grantsville, Utah
The 568-acres of raw land in Grantsville, Utah west of Salt Lake City was a gravel pit. SJ Company served as Owner’s Representative to purchase the land, finalize partial entitlements with the City of Grantsville and Tooele County and then sell to one of the largest concrete suppliers in the state of Utah.

Mountain America Corporate Office – Sandy, Utah
The 11-story Mountain America Center corporate headquarters is in Sandy, Utah. SJ Company oversaw the entire project for this 363,000-sf office building and six-story parking structure.
This is a beautiful building designed to attract and retain top talent for this company. The design features more than just office space. It also has a gym, a restaurant, and a medical clinic. It is currently the tallest building outside of downtown Salt Lake City and houses 2,000 employees.

111th Main – Salt Lake City Downtown
An extension of City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, this 25-story tower development finished construction in March 2017. The office tower is one of the tallest additions to the Salt Lake City skyline at 387 feet above grade. The building is 504,000 square feet and features a column-free design with 9-foot, floor-to-ceiling glass. The lobby is stunning and surrounded with 35-foot glass.
This iconic building’s design was nationally recognized for the structural hat-truss system from a concrete core, due to the 40-foot overhang of another building (the George S. and Delores Doré Eccles Theatre next door). The 111 Main tower is designed for sustainability and was awarded the LEED Gold Certification.
SJ was proud to work with the City Creek Reserve, an arm of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the developer of the project.

View 8 / ZAGG TI – Midvale, Utah
The new ZAGG corporate office building in Midvale, Utah was finished in January 2016. The View 8 Office building is a 125,000-sf, five-story office building. It is a creative space designed for collaboration and free-flowing ideas. The exterior includes tile, metal panel, curtain wall windows, and EIFS insulation. It is designed with both closed and open office space, an auditorium, and skylights.
SJ worked on the Owner’s Rep team to design and build this bright, creative 125,000-sf office space. The project included the fourth and fifth story.

Tracy Hall – Weber State University
Weber State University is a public university set on 516 acres in Ogden, Utah.
As the university continued to encourage growth in S.T.E.M. programs, a new science building was needed. The old building, built in 1969, had serious life-safety issues including asbestos, seismic instability, and inadequate ventilation for chemicals used for teaching and research.
SJ worked with stakeholders, architects, and other experts to create a building that served its primary scientific purpose but also provided areas for study, collaboration, and relaxation.
In addition to constructing the new science building, SJ was tasked with demolishing three existing buildings as part of the entire contract. Coordinating demolition for multiple buildings as well as a large build site took meticulous planning, coordination, and communication.
Other highlights from this contract include:
- 185,000sq ft across four stories
- Included teaching laboratories, research laboratories, and laboratory support areas
- Provided student study classrooms, offices, administrative areas, and building support spaces
- LEED Registered sustainability

BYU Life Science Building – Provo, Utah
Brigham Young University (BYU) is a private research university located in Provo, Utah.
The university wanted to expand its life science building to offer more space for research, labs, and office space. BYU partnered with Okland Construction to execute their new plans for a five-story, 250,000sq ft. building that would become the epicenter of the life science school.
SJ worked through every phase of the project. Each phase brought new challenges to address and exciting progress to show the stakeholders. SJ and the rest of the project team focused heavily on budgeting and quality control to ensure the project met BYU’s high standards.
Highlights of the completed project include:
- 265,000 square feet of teaching, research, and office space
- 250-space parking garage
- 16 teaching labs, three auditoriums, four conference rooms and more than 70 academic offices
- A spacious atrium and wide staircase that offers inviting ambiance in the common areas for breaks and study groups

Spokane Street Viaduct Project – Seattle, WA
SJ worked closely with architects and Seattle city municipalities to design and execute a project that doubled the viaduct width, adding 41+ feet of new structure immediately adjacent to the old one.
Along with creating a previously nonexistent eastbound off-ramp at Fourth Avenue, plans also included refurbishing and reinforcing existing structures against seismic activity.
Additional improvements made during this project include:
- Wider lanes and the addition of shoulders
- Deceleration and merge lanes resulting in a significant improvement in traffic flow.
- New pavement, sidewalks, and utilities
- A bicycle/pedestrian pathway on the north side of the street
